From Applications to Appeals and Federal Court Proceedings.
We work on both sides of the immigration process: helping clients prepare strong applications before a decision is made, and representing clients when a decision has already gone against them.
Discuss Your Immigration MatterImmigration Appeals and Litigation
A refusal, removal order, inadmissibility concern, or procedural fairness letter may require a carefully tailored legal strategy.
For contested matters, we review the decision or concerns raised, identify potential legal or procedural errors, assess the available evidence, prepare a comprehensive response, and determine the appropriate remedies or next steps.
Immigration Applications
The goal of an application is not simply to submit forms. It is to understand the applicable immigration pathway, identify potential issues and build an evidentiary record that addresses them.
We assist with matters including immigration applications, sponsorship, and status-related issues. Our focus is on making sure the application is complete, properly supported and presented clearly.
Natlus Law represents clients in matters involving:
Deadlines matter. Some immigration remedies have very short filing periods, so we establish the applicable deadline as early as possible.
For Buyers, We Can Assist With:
- Reviewing the Agreement of Purchase and Sale
- Searching title and identifying registered issues

- Reviewing condominium status certificates

For Sellers

For Refinancing and Other Property Matters
We also assist with mortgage and refinancing transactions and other property-related legal matters where appropriate.
Our role is simple: protect your interests and make sure the legal side of the transaction is handled properly.
More Than Paperwork. Your Lawyer Protects Your Legal Interests in the Transaction.
Your real estate lawyer's role goes beyond signing documents and registering a transfer. The lawyer reviews the legal aspects of the transaction, identifies issues, and ensures the closing is completed correctly.

Explore Will PreparationPowers of Attorney
We prepare and advise on two important documents:
Continuing Power of Attorney for Property
Allows someone you appoint to manage your finances and property when you are unable to do so.
Power of Attorney for Personal Care
Allows someone you appoint to make personal care and health-related decisions on your behalf.
Powers of attorney can also be particularly important when someone involved in a real estate transaction will be outside Canada during closing.
Notary Public Services
Notary and commissioner services are available for matters including:
- Document notarization
- Certified true copies
- Affidavits
- Statutory declarations
- Travel consent letters for children

Please bring the original document and government-issued photo identification. Where a signature must be witnessed by the notary, do not sign the document before your appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are Natlus Law's main practice areas?
Immigration law and Canadian real estate law are our two core practice areas. We also provide family law, wills and estate planning, powers of attorney, and notary services.
Do you handle both immigration applications and appeals?
Yes. We assist with immigration applications and represent clients in contested matters involving Canada’s immigration tribunals and, where applicable, judicial review proceedings before the Federal Court of Canada.
Can an immigration consultant do what a lawyer does?
Lawyers and licensed immigration consultants can both represent clients in certain immigration matters before IRCC. However, only a lawyer can represent a client before the Federal Court of Canada.
If your matter involves court proceedings or legal arguments concerning how a decision was made, a lawyer may be required.
Do I need a lawyer to buy a house in Canada?
A lawyer handles the legal closing and registration of a real estate transaction. Your real estate agent and lender have different roles and do not act as your personal legal representative.
Can you represent me if I don't live in Canada?
For immigration matters, yes. Immigration law is federal, and consultations can be conducted virtually for clients in Canada and abroad.
For real estate matters, we assist with Canadian property transactions.
What if my matter isn't listed here?
Not every legal issue fits neatly into a practice area.
Tell us about your situation during the consultation. If the matter is outside our scope, we’ll tell you directly and, where possible, help point you toward an appropriate practitioner.
How Can an Immigration Lawyer Help Respond to a Procedural Fairness Letter in Canada?
An immigration lawyer can identify the officer’s specific concerns, gather the necessary evidence, and prepare a clear and persuasive response. A properly prepared response can address alleged inconsistencies or inadmissibility issues before a final decision is made.
